Description
This is a manor house dating to the late 17th century, originally arranged in an "H" shape. It is two storeys high with an attic. The roof is red tiled, with a gambrel shape over the central section and gabled ends on the crosswings. The house has a timber frame, now clad in 19th-century plastered brick. Dormer windows from the 17th century with hipped tile roofs are visible in the centre range, and casement windows with glazing bars are in the gable ends of the attic. The first floor has an arrangement of windows as one, one, and one panes wide, while the ground floor is one, two, and one panes wide, all using small-paned sliding sash windows. A hipped, tiled, open-plan lean-to porch is attached to the left crosswing, and there is a single-storey tiled extension to the left. Raised bands and drip hoods above the first-floor windows on the crosswing are also notable. An external red brick chimney stack is located on the left side, and an original square chimney stack is attached to the centre range. Inside, a 17th-century staircase wing contains the original staircase with turned balusters, along with matching doors and architraves. The roof structure features side purlins with yoked collars.
