Description

Maltings Cottage is a 17th-century timber-framed building that was formerly part of the maltings, located set back at the rear of the buildings fronting Church Street in Great Chesterford. The cottage has been restored and renovated, showcasing exposed timber-framing on the upper storey, which is jettied across the entire front supported by exposed joists. The building is two storeys high and features modern casement windows. The roof is tiled. Inside, there are exposed timber-framing, ceiling beams, and joists. A modern addition at the south-west end has been built in a style that complements the original structure, using old timbers.
