Description
Fishers Cottage is a cottage dating from the 16th century, with later alterations and additions. It is timber framed and plastered, with the left side partially weatherboarded. The cottage features a half hipped thatched roof and a central red brick chimney stack. It has one storey and attics, with a gabled dormer and three different two-light small paned casements. The door is off centre, and there are pentice boards above the door and windows.
The cottage was likely originally built as a single storey dwelling, with arched braces to the tie beams, although these are obscured by lambs tongue stopped chamfered bridging joists. There is an inglenook fireplace with a timber mantel beam that has been infilled. A 20th-century gabled, single storey rear extension has been added.
