Description
Alresford Lodge is a house with an 18th century facade that has earlier origins, along with later alterations and additions. The building is timber framed and faced with red brick, topped by a red plain tiled roof that has an outshot at the rear and a gabled rear range. There is a tall chimney stack at the back. The house has two storeys and attics, featuring a gabled dormer on the left side. It has end pilasters, a parapet, and a central band. The front has a range of four vertically sliding sash windows with glazing bars and segmental arches. The heavy oak doorway, located off centre to the right, has nine panels with moulded and nailed rails and muntins, likely dating from the early 17th century. To the right of the door, there is a Sun Insurance plaque. The windows have internal shutters, and the staircase features turned balusters.
