Description

This is a late 17th-century house, extended in the 20th century. The house is timber-framed, with plaster infill, some exposed framing, and weatherboarding, and has a thatched roof. It has four bays facing north, with a central stack forming a lobby entrance. A 19th-20th century lean-to extension is located at the left end, extending to the rear, and a 20th-century extension runs to the rear right. The main part of the house is one storey high with attics. There are three 20th-century casement windows and a 20th-century front door.

Inside, the house has chamfered transverse beams with plain stops, tenoned and ledged into storey-posts with half-height jowls, and plain joists of vertical section. Original straight bracing is visible, along with a clasped purlin roof with wide rafters. Two wide wood-burning hearths are present; one has been refaced in modern brickwork. An original quarter-turn staircase is located at the rear of the stack. Some original doors retain their original ironwork.
