Description

Gravel Pit Cottages is a pair of attached cottages built around 1840. They are timber framed, weatherboarded, and have a slate roof. The cottages have a near-square plan facing southwest and feature a central stack. They are two storeys high and have a two-window range of original sashes with 16 lights. There are two plain boarded doors, each with simple hoods supported by profiled brackets. The hipped roof is finished with red clay tiles on the ridge and hips. This building is an exceptionally unaltered example of its period.
