Description
The Cock Inn is a 17th century house built in an L-plan layout. It has two storeys, with a short range that is higher at the ridge than the long range. The front is made of stock brick, which is visible above a modern single-storey addition. The inner return of the building is less altered. The roofs are ridged, gabled, and covered with peg tiles. The rear elevations are timber framed and plastered, featuring small paned wooden casements arranged in a range of five round and return. There is a porch with a conoid roof, also peg-tiled, located at the angle of the building, which has a modern door on the ground storey. Inside, there is a two-bay timber frame from the 15th century with joists that have housed shoulders, as well as a 17th century ovolo moulded casement that remains in place in the saloon bar.
