Description
The granary at Little Hyde Farm, located 30 yards east of the farmhouse, dates from the 17th to 18th century. It is a single-storey, three-bay structure with a weatherboarded exterior and a steep hipped roof covered in red pantiles. The building is supported by four brick piers on each long side, with flush horizontal boarding above these piers. The floor has been lowered, and narrow lapped boarding is used to infill between the piers. The interior is lined with boarding, and there is a central door on each long side. The roof features clasped purlins and diminished principals. At the southern end, there is a small timber-framed and weatherboarded extension with a steep gabled roof made of old tiles, which includes three pointed pigeon holes in the gable, adding to its picturesque appearance.
