Description

Wethers is a house dating from the late 16th century to early 17th century, with extensive alterations made in the 18th century. It features a timber frame and plastered exterior, topped with a hipped roof covered in red plain tiles. The building has two storeys and a three-window range of double hung sashes with glazing bars, along with two ground floor bay windows from the 19th century. The central door, which dates to the 18th century, is topped with a flat hood supported by brackets. The eaves have a coved cornice. At the rear, there is a 20th-century extension. Inside, there is a notable staircase from around 1600, complete with a moulded handrail and turned balusters. Some original framing is visible internally, featuring moulded bridging joists.
