Description

Nos 40 to 42 on East Hill are former 17th century extensions to the rear of Nos 38 and 39, facing Rosebery Avenue. The buildings are primarily timber framed, plastered, and painted, except for No 42, which has a red brick front. They feature sash windows, mostly with glazing bars, and are two storeys high with attics and cellars. The roofs are tiled, and the upper storey projects at the front on curved brackets, as well as on the east side of the rear extension. Nos 25 to 42 form a group.
