Description
This is a 16th-century house with a cross wing at the east end and a 17th-century rear extension that incorporates numbers 40, 41, and 42. The house is timber-framed, with plastered and painted elevations. It has sash windows, most of which retain glazing bars. The building has two storeys and attics, including cellars below. The tiled roof is characteristic of the region. The upper storey projects on the front, supported by curved brackets, and also on the east side of the rear extension. An 18th-century oriel window is visible on the upper storey of the front of the cross wing. There is a small ground-floor shop front. Numbers 25 to 42 form a group of buildings with historical significance.
