Description

The buildings at 29-33 East Hill likely represent the cross wings of a 16th-17th century house, with numbers 30 and 31 having been rebuilt. Numbers 29, 32, and 33 predominantly display 17th-century features, although number 29 incorporates some 16th-century work. These are two-storey buildings with cellars, constructed with timber framing and plastered walls, and covered by tiled roofs. The upper storey of each building projects to the front, with number 29 featuring shaped brackets with moulded pendants. Ground floor shops were added in the 19th century. Number 29 has casement windows on the upper storey, a modern bow window on the ground floor, while the remaining buildings have sash windows with glazing bars. Numbers 30 and 31 have slate roofs. These buildings form a group with numbers 25-42.
