Description
30 East Stockwell Street is a building from the 14th, 15th, and 16th centuries that has been extensively restored while maintaining its overall character. The southern part of the building mainly dates from the mid-16th century but includes sections of an earlier 14th-century hall. It features a projecting gable on the east front with a moulded bressumer, a projecting upper storey supported by curved brackets, exposed timber-framing, and a brick plinth. The northern part may have originally been a separate building and dates from around 1500, with its upper storey projecting at a lower level on the east front and also displaying exposed timber-framing. There are some original doorways and windows, many of which have been restored, along with remnants of the former 'screens'.
