Description

This barn, located north of the barn west of Old Hall Farmhouse, dates from around 1800. It is constructed with a timber frame made of oak and pine and was originally first-floored as a later addition. The barn is four bays long, featuring a ridged and gabled roof with peg tiles resting on red brick footings. The floor consists of stones laid on edge. There are binding-joists below the eaves, with standard knees above them that are mortised for a former floor, which had late haunched-tenons. The rafters are made of oak, complemented by slender lapped collars and purlins. The south side has half doors at the center, along with one lowered window positioned in the center and another to the right.
