Description

These are two adjoining buildings on the south side of High Street, originally one building which was later refronted in brick in 1793. The buildings are three storeys high, with cellars beneath. The front wall is finished with a coping. Number 71 has a symmetrical three-window front with double-hung sash windows; an ornamental stucco cornice runs between the upper two storeys. The entrance doorway features pilasters, a cornice, a six-panel door, and panelled reveals. Number 72 has a one-window front with double-hung sash windows with glazing bars. These buildings are part of a group that includes numbers 67 to 75 on High Street and 1 Queen Street.
