Description

Mill Hill Farmhouse is a farmhouse comprising a 17th-century north-east block and a later 18th-century extension to the south-west. The north-east block is timber-framed with rendered and pebbledashed elevations, sitting on a brick plinth, and has a machine tiled roof. The east front, dating from the 17th century, is two storeys high and has a three-window range, including an 18th-century flush cross wing at the south end. The windows are late 20th-century top-hung casements, some with 2- and 3-lights. There is an internal gable-end stack to the north. The rear of this section has a two-window range; the upper floor has two horned sashes, one with 2/2 glazing bars. The ground floor has a late 20th-century top-hung casement. A late 19th-century lean-to extends in an angle, alongside an 18th-century staircase projection, which is lit by a single 2/2 horned sash on the first floor.

The south front is two storeys high with a single-window range. It features a cross wing to the right, with a 2-light, late 20th-century top-hung casement on the ground floor. The main elevation has a 20th-century gabled porch and a 20th-century bay window, both fitted with late 20th-century top-hung casements. A 2/2 horned sash is located above the porch. A ridge stack is positioned to the right of centre. The rear of the building has a two-window range with a late 20th-century top-hung casement on the ground floor and two sashes on the first floor, divided by a stack built on the wall plane. The west return has a late 20th-century French window, covered by a lean-to hood, and a late 20th-century top-hung casement to the attic floor. The interior has not been inspected.
