Description

Laceys Farmhouse is an early 18th century timber-framed farmhouse situated in Rettendon. The ground floor is weatherboarded, while the first floor is clad in clay tiles. The roof is tiled, with a tiled lean-to extension and two end-wall chimney stacks constructed of red brick. The farmhouse is two storeys high with attics, featuring a two-window front with casement windows and a central door recessed within a 20th century hipped-roofed weather porch. The interior retains oak framing, floor joists, and chamfered bridging joists. The roof structure exhibits collars, side purlins, and straight bracing. One original planked door remains, with alternate boards that are chamfered.
