Description

Garnetts Farmhouse is a timber-framed hall house dating back to the 15th century. It retains exposed timber framing and plaster infill. A cross wing with a jettied upper storey is located at the east end, while a west wing was originally present but has since been lost. The hall itself was altered in the 16th century, and the entire house was restored and renovated during the 20th century. The cross wing is two storeys high, and the main block has one storey and attics. Windows are casements with leaded lights, and a moulded head of an original window is visible beneath the jettied upper storey. The roof is tiled, with a single gabled dormer window on the main block, and an original chimney stack features three circular shafts decorated with spiral ornamentation.
