Description
The brick revetting to the moat and the octagonal turrets at the north-west and south-west angles of Killigrews is a notable 16th-century feature. On the west side of the house, the moat is crossed by a modern bridge and is lined with brick walls. Some of these walls, particularly on the inner face, are made of early 16th-century brick and display black brick diapering. The north-west and south-west angles are accentuated by octagonal corner turrets, which have moulded brick bases and crocketted brick pinnacles above moulded brick cornices. The outer faces of the turrets include loop openings.
