Description

New Hall Farmhouse is an early 19th-century house located on the north side of Horseman Side, Navestock. The house is built of yellow brick with a slate roof, hipped and featuring end chimney stacks. It has two storeys and three bays. The windows are double-hung sashes with thin glazing bars, set in stuccoed reveals. The central entrance features a six-panelled door with fielded panels, accompanied by a rectangular fanlight. A flat-topped porch, designed in a Greek Revival style, incorporates suggested triglyphs and metopes, and features Tuscan columns. Less prominent walls on the sides and rear of the house are constructed of soft pink bricks mixed with the yellow. Internally, the house retains original window shutters with locking bars. A cast-iron fireplace in the sitting room is not original to the building.
