Description
14 and 16 Priests Lane are two adjoining houses built around 1800. They are constructed of red brick and have a roof covered with composition flat tiles. The buildings have a rectangular plan and feature stacks at the gable ends and at the junction of the two houses.
The south elevation has a two-window range for the original house with a central front door. There is an additional single range unit on the west side with a second door at the junction, and a straight building joint above, with both units designed in a similar style.
The earlier east unit, No. 16, has four segment-headed sash windows with glazing bars, arranged as three panes by four panes. The doorway features pulvinated jambs and a reeded architrave, topped with a flat bracket hood, and has a door with six flush panels.
The west unit, No. 14, has similar ground and first-floor windows to No. 16, but the first-floor window frame has been replaced with a 20th-century casement. The doorway is similar to that of No. 16, but the hood is missing and the door is now a 20th-century flush design.
