Description

A range of three attached houses, likely originating as a single house, dates primarily to the 18th century, with alterations in the 19th century. The houses are timber-framed, with plaster rendering, and have roofs covered in handmade red plain tiles. The main range faces south, featuring a central axial stack. A parallel rear range has two stacks between them. A short, hipped-roof wing extends to the rear right, alongside a 20th-century single-storey flat-roofed extension. A longer parallel wing is situated to the left of the hipped wing, and is followed by a 19th-century two-storey extension of red brick in Flemish bond, roofed with red clay pantiles (behind number 45). A 19th or 20th-century two-storey lean-to extension with a slate roof is at the rear left (behind numbers 43 and 41).

The front elevation has a ground floor with three late 19th-century splayed bay windows featuring 2-4-2 lights, and one late 19th-century sash window of 4 lights. The first floor has five late 19th-century sash windows of 4 lights each, and one of 2 lights. Number 43 has a late 19th-century half-glazed door within a doorcase with panelled jambs and a gabled canopy supported on scrolled brackets, with three stone steps leading up to it. Number 45 has an early 19th-century five-panel door, with three glazed and two flush panels, set within a reeded doorcase with paterae and a moulded flat canopy, and features three stone steps. Number 47 has a 20th-century six-panel door and two stone steps. The first-floor windows of number 43 have moulded cornices. Numbers 43 and 45 feature a moulded band at first-floor level, and a moulded parapet. Number 47 has a 19th-century facade of plastered brick and a simple parapet cornice.
