Description
The Old Vicarage is a house that dates from the 17th century or earlier, with additions and alterations made in the 18th century and later. The front range is timber framed and plastered, while the rear wing is constructed of painted brick. The roofs are covered with red plain tiles, and there are three red brick chimney stacks on the front range and two on the rear. The building features a moulded eaves cornice and stands two storeys high.
On the first floor, there is a range of five windows, and on the ground floor, there are three windows, all of which include various small-paned vertical and horizontal sliding sashes and casements set in moulded surrounds. The central entrance has a panelled door that is partly glazed, flanked by panelled pilasters and topped with a dentilled soffit to the pediment. There is a part glazed gabled timber porch with a segmental head above the door, and garage doors are located to the right. It is reputed that the ceilings contain stop-chamfered bridging joists.
