Description

This granary, located approximately 30 metres north of Birdbrook Hall, dates from the late 17th century to early 18th century. It is timber framed and weatherboarded, with a roof made of red clay corrugated tiles. The structure has three bays aligned roughly northeast to southwest and features an entrance stair on the southeast side. It stands two storeys tall with a half-hipped roof at both ends. The building includes jowled posts, joists with a vertical section, and hanging knees secured with early threaded bolts. There are bins present on the first floor, and a corrugated iron lean-to is attached to the northwest side. This granary is included for group value with Birdbrook Hall and the barn.
