Description
This is a pair of early 18th-century houses located on Queen Street, Coggeshall. The houses were originally timber-framed and subsequently plastered, with a distinctive weatherboard dado and a red plain tile roof. They have two storeys and a three-window front. The original windows are horizontally sliding sashes with glazing bars, protected by pentice boards. The original entrances retain flat board heads supported by shaped brackets. A 19th-century weatherboarded extension with a grey slate roof extends to the rear. A central brick chimney stack, originally red, is also a notable feature.
