Description

Forge Cottage is a 17th or 18th century cottage located on Lucking Street in Great Maplestead. Originally listed in 1962 as "Barons (cottage)" with the former smithy, it has since been renamed. The cottage is timber-framed with parget plastering, and has a red plain tiled roof with three gabled dormers. A wing extends to the rear, and there are two red brick chimney stacks. The building is one storey in height with attics, and features a three-window range of 19th-century casement windows.
