Description
This granary, located approximately 5 metres west of Tudor House, dates back to the 15th century. It is constructed with a timber frame and is weatherboarded, topped with handmade red clay tiles. The building features four bays arranged in a northwest-southeast orientation and stands two storeys high. Notable architectural elements include jowled posts, heavy studding with arched braces that are trenched to the outside, cambered tiebeams with arched braces, and a crownpost roof with axial bracing. The plain joists have a horizontal section and were originally joined to the binding beams using unrefined soffit tenons, although the floor has since been rebuilt at a higher level.
