Description

The Windmill is a notable post mill dating from around 1680. It was relocated to its current site in 1830, at which time a two-storey round brick base was constructed. The mill is weather-boarded and features a tail pole and a sack hoist. It holds the distinction of being the first post mill in the country to be designated as a historical monument, having been transferred to the Urban District Council by the Tabor family in 1929, when it was still in full working order.
