Description
Gosfield Hall features four gas lamps located in the courtyard, dating from the 19th century. These lamps are made of cast iron and stand on moulded and panelled stone plinths. Each lamp has ornate pierced circles that support splayed foliate bases, which are adorned with leaves that clasp simpler designs. From these bases rise fluted columns topped with floral capitals, which support the polygonal lamps. The flat central panels have moulded and pierced cornices, and are topped with hipped panels that include small ventilator domes and foliate finials. One of the lamps is missing its glass head.
