Description
Croziers is a house dating from the late 17th century, with alterations made in the 20th century. It is timber framed and plastered, featuring a thatched roof. The house has four bays facing northeast, with a stack located one bay from the right end against the rear wall. There is a one-bay extension to the right, which is from the 18th century, and a single-storey lean-to extension to the right that extends to the rear, added in the 20th century. The building is one storey with attics and includes three 20th-century casements and one 18th-century wrought iron casement with diamond leading. There are also two 20th-century casements in gabled dormers and an 18th or 19th-century plain boarded door. The roof is half-hipped at the right end.
Inside, there is one chamfered axial beam with lamb's tongue stops, plain joists of vertical section supported on pegged clamps, and a large wood-burning hearth facing to the left, with an original winder stair beside it. The left internal tie beam features a fully framed doorway, while others are either severed or missing. The deeds held by the owners trace the property's copyhold back continuously to 1652.
