Description
The railings on a dwarf wall and gate, dating from the early 19th century, are located approximately 3 metres south-east of Wisteria House, which is number 13 on Queen Street in Coggeshall. These features are made of cast iron set on a rendered brick base and form a boundary between Wisteria House and Queen Street, with a central gateway. The railings have fleur-de-lis terminals, with two lines of these terminals on the gate. Each side of the gateway has a stanchion of octagonal section. There is one iron stay of double curvature in the middle of each length of railing, and the structure terminates at a red brick pier at each end. The overall height of the railings on the dwarf wall is 1.33 metres.
