Description
No 1 Dennis Green is a house built in 1621, which was renovated in the late 20th century. It has a timber frame that is cased in red brick and rendered on a rebuilt brick plinth. The roof is plain tiled, and there is a ridge stack with rebuilt diagonally set shafts on a rendered base. The house is L-shaped, consisting of a main range with a rear kitchen wing, and it has two storeys.
The exterior features four modern casement windows from the late 20th century in small openings, with two at ground level on either side of a baffle entry doorway. Inside, one ground floor room has a ceiling with substantial joists laid flat, and the date 1621 is embossed on a partition wall at the first floor. The main beams are hollow chamfered.
