Description
The Old Manse is a house that was formerly a manse, built in 1761. It features a timber frame with a rendered exterior and a half hipped roof, which has a ridge stack that has been rebuilt at the top. The building has two storeys and an attic. On the first floor, there are three late 20th-century flush frame hung sash windows in their original openings, along with three similar modern windows on either side of the front doorway. Access to the front door, which is panelled and has a flat hood supported by a dentil cornice and scroll brackets, is via six steps. At the rear, there is a lean-to that has been extended. To the north side of the property, there is a pair of early 19th-century cast iron gates and piers. The fluted piers have bases and capitals with shaped tops, and the wrought iron gates are designed in two stages with vertical bars that intersect at the heads.
