The building is a former British school constructed in 1848. It is made of local gault brick and features a slate roof that has a pediment at the end facing the road. The pediment is supported by scroll brackets and includes a stone roundel in the tympanum, which is inscribed with "Erected 1848" and surrounded by red brick. There is a double doorway with a semi-circular arch made of red brick, resting on stone impost blocks. This building is included for its group value alongside the nearby Baptist chapel.
