Description

This is a late 18th- and early 19th-century house and shop. It is located on the east side of Mill Street in Gamlngay. The building is constructed of gault brick, with some red brick in the north end wall. It has a steeply pitched tiled roof with flush end stacks, which have been rebuilt. The house is two storeys high. The upper floor has a range of six recessed, late 18th- and early 19th-century twelve-pane hung sash windows, each with a stuccoed arch and raised key blocks. The ground floor has similar sash windows, with a house doorway featuring raised and fielded panels. A double-fronted shop window has a pilastered architrave with a cornice and single vertical glazing bars to the windows.
