Description

The barn, drying house, and outbuildings at Charnock House date from around 1700. The barn is timber framed with brick infill and red brick casing, similar to the domestic wing of the house. It features a slate roof and consists of two bays, with queen strut roof trusses and later wind bracing. To the east, there is a drying house made of red brick on a plinth, topped with a later plain tiled roof that conceals the stack of the drying house. The drying house was likely extended later in the 18th century.
