Description

The buildings at 6 and 8 High Street, Pampsford, are two dwellings originally forming a single cottage. They date from the mid-17th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. The construction is timber-framed and plastered, with a thatched roof that is half-hipped to the north. A red brick ridge stack is rectangular in shape.

The building is one storey high with an attic, and has a four-unit plan. A boarded door is located in the north bay, and two 19th-century panelled doors are aligned with the brick stack. Four ground-floor horizontal sliding sash windows are present, including a large, three-light, shuttered window to the south. A single horizontal sliding sash gabled dormer window lights the attic space.
