Description
The gates and gatepiers to Pampisford Hall were built around 1880, likely designed by G. Goldie for William Parker Hammond. They are made of red brick with ashlar dressings and feature a chamfered plinth. The structure includes a pair of square gatepiers, each adorned with three chamfered ashlar bands and a central upright on each face. At the top of each pier is a square ashlar cap with a roundel and a projecting boar's head, finished with a pyramidal top and a finial. Curved brick walls with chamfered ashlar coping flank the gatepiers, leading to shorter gatepiers. To the right, the wall continues with a door and a final pier. Between the central piers, there is a pair of ornate iron gates designed in the Baroque style.
