Description

A row of four cottages dating from the mid-19th century, located on Grantchester High Street. The cottages are constructed of grey brick with low-pitched slate roofs, featuring deep overhangs and bracketting to the gable ends of the crosswings. There are three grey brick ridge stacks. The layout is a half-H-shape, with one cottage positioned in each crosswing and two in the central range. The cottages are two storeys high. The first floor has six iron-framed casement windows with segmental arches. The ground floor has four similar casement windows with coupled round-headed arches set within stone impost blocks. Two open-sided porches with slate roofs are located in the angle between the crosswings and the central range, each with a flush-panelled door. Each crosswing displays similar coupled arches to two windows on both the first and ground floors.
