Description

The Cottage is a cottage dating from the late 17th century or early 18th century, featuring some re-used materials. It has a timber frame with plaster and a thatched roof that is half hipped to the right. The building is one storey with an attic and has a three-unit plan. The main entrance has a boarded door, and there are three ground floor windows, each with two-light horizontal sliding sashes. Inside, there is a re-used axial ceiling beam from the 16th century that has double ogee moulding, an inglenook hearth where a 19th-century baking oven has been removed, and a hearth added to the west room.
