Description

Spindleberry Cottage, formerly known as No 2 Dock Lane and later as The Folly, is a pair of cottages that have been combined into one dwelling. It dates from the late 17th century to the early 18th century. The building features a timber frame with painted brick casing and is topped with a reed thatch roof, which includes a ridge stack. It is a single storey with attics and originally had a two-unit plan, including butteries, although the partitions have been removed. There are four dormer windows and five ground floor windows of various sizes, all with glazing bars, along with a door set in a segmental arch. Lean-to additions have been made to the north side.
