Description
This is a 17th or earlier L-shaped farmhouse, extended in 1819 with a garden range to the south. The original 17th-century house is mainly timber-framed, set on a stone plinth, with some freestone details. It is now cement-rendered and has a plain tiled gabled roof with end stacks. The front of the house has three later windows with glazing bars on the upper floor. The entrance is positioned in an angle of the building. A door dating from the early 18th century features raised and fielded panelling, topped with a flat canopy also panelled.
The 1819 garden range is built of gault brick and has a hipped slate roof with a deep overhang to the eaves. It is three storeys high and has a three-window front with hung sashes and glazing bars. The central doorway is round-headed, with a doorcase of plain pilasters and an entablature supporting a broken pediment. Above the door is a fanlight with glazing bars. A rainwater head dated 1819 is visible on the east gable end.
