Description

Pringle Farmhouse is a cottage comprising two phases of building, with a core dating to the 17th century. The original two-bay range is timber-framed and was later clad in gault brick with red brick banding around 1860. It has a thatched roof, half-hipped at the right-hand gable end, and a ridge stack. The house follows a lobby-entry plan, with two storeys. Four hung sashes, dating from around 1860 and featuring central vertical glazing bars, are recessed into the front elevation. A brick porch with a thatched roof is situated at the entry, opposite the stack. An 18th-century red brick addition adjoins the original range to the left; this too was cased in gault brick around 1860. This addition has a thatched roof with a gable end parapet.
