Description

This public institution, located on Crown Place (or Yard), dates from around 1848. It features a slated hip roof with projecting bracketed eaves and is constructed from gault brick with a cement dado. The building has a symmetrical design with five bays, supported by giant pilasters that carry brackets. There are three architraved sash windows with cornices, although the sash windows have been altered. The end bays contain architraved double doorways topped with an entablature and pediment. This structure is part of a group that includes the Particular Baptist Meeting House, the Particular Baptist Sabbath School, and Nos. 10 to 12 (consecutive).
