Description

The Manor House, built in 1704 by an ancestor of the current owner, Colonel Sismey, is located on the east side of High Street in Offord Cluny. It features nine bays, including two slightly projecting wings, and is constructed of red brick. The house has a hipped roof covered with plain tiles and a modillion eaves cornice, along with two ridge stacks and two side stacks. It is two storeys high with attics and includes three late 19th-century gabled dormers. The windows are 19th-century flush wood frame hung sashes with glazing bars, set under cambered arches.

The 19th-century porch, made of brick, has recessed windows on the sides and possibly features a reset late 18th-century pedimented doorcase with plain pilasters and an entablature. The entrance has a six-panelled door topped with a semi-circular headed fanlight and radiating glazing bars. The porch is located on the east side and is of similar date to the house.

Inside, the first floor retains the original corridor plan and some early 18th-century doorcases and doors with raised and fielded panelling. The hall has an early 18th-century stone floor, and part of the early 18th-century back staircase remains in the north wing, featuring two flights with a closed string and turned balusters. There have been mid-19th-century and later additions to the rear of the house.
