Description

Two estate houses, dating to around 1840, were likely built for the Duke of Bedford and possibly designed by S.S. Teulon. They are constructed of hammer-dressed limestone and rubble with freestone dressings, and have Collyweston stone slated roofs. The main east-west range is two storeys high, with a single-storey range extending from the east gable. The gables have parapets, and a tall central ridge stack features two rectangular ashlar shafts and a common moulded cornice. There are boarded doors to two entrances on the north elevation; No. 15 is on the right-hand side and has a flat arch and chamfered jambs. The windows consist of three ground floor and four first floor casement windows, each with one or two lights, featuring chamfered stone flat arched heads and jambs, and stone cills.
