Description

Highfield Farmhouse is a late 17th-century farmhouse of a three-unit plan, with a projecting porch to the south and a stair turret to the north. It is constructed of red brick and has a plain tiled roof with gable-end stacks and a side stack. The farmhouse is two storeys high with attics. The south elevation has been significantly altered; it originally had six window openings on each storey, though three have been sealed and three now feature later recessed sash windows. The stair turret at the rear is gabled. The interior retains an original staircase with five flights, a closed string, turned balusters, and ball finials to square newel posts.
