Description

Nos 154 and 155 High Street are a late 18th or early 19th century building. They are constructed of gault brick on a stone plinth, with a stone parapet. The building is three storeys high and originally had three bays divided by plain brick pilasters, with a further bay to the right featuring an elliptical carriage arch. The windows are primarily sash windows with glazing bars, except for casements in the top left and centre. The central entrance has paired doors surmounted by fanlights. A parapet obscures the roof. No 155 formerly belonged to the County Gaol and retains a condemned cell within the cellar, which faces Orchard Street. This cell has two barred windows.
