Description
The Fox and Hounds Public House is a 17th-century building with 19th-century additions and alterations. It features a timber-framed and plastered structure with a plastered plinth and painted brick from the 19th century. The building has slate roofs and is one storey with an attic. The original lobby entry range is complemented by a two-storey addition on the right side. There is a square planned ridge stack and gable end stacks. The entrance includes a glazed, panelled door located to the right of the centre, with two sixteen-paned and one twelve-paned hung sash windows to the left, and two recessed twelve-paned hung sash windows to the right. On the upper floor, there are two casement dormer windows and two recessed nine-paned hung sash windows. Inside, notable features include a stop-chamfered ceiling beam, a boxed beam, and a relined open hearth.
