Description
The building is a lodge that formerly served Stibbington House, along with the gate piers leading to the driveway. It dates from the early to mid-19th century and is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with freestone dressings, topped with Welsh slate roofs. The structure is one storey with an attic, featuring a gable facing the street and a symmetrical south facade.
The freestone porch has a four-centred arch set within a square head, and it retains the original panelled inner door. There are two ground floor casement windows with ovolo moulded mullions and transoms, as well as two dormers on the facade. The gables are adorned with pierced and carved barge boards.
On the west side, there is a corbelled end stack with two octagonal shafts that have embattled caps, and a similar stack is located behind the ridge on the eastern side. At the rear, there is an eccentric Gothic octagonal turret that is embattled and topped with a conical stone cap and a crocketted finial. The gate piers are rusticated, featuring moulded bases and caps, each topped with ball finials.
